Easiest Corn Flakes Cheese Pie (vegetarian) / Najlakši Corn Flakes burek sa sirom (vegetarijanski)

Okay, first off, this does not taste like the real Burek. It would be scientifically impossible to replicate and achieve the magical flavor combination of fried flakey dough with anything else other than actual fried flakey dough. But, considering the fact that there is no added oil or fat to this dish and that there is no any real dough here at all, this dish is actually quite good. If you adjust your expectations, you’ll probably love it. However, if you just want to indulge in some real fried flakey dough, go for a real Burek.

INGREDIENTS:

(Yields 4 generous servings / 0.86 EUR per serving / 3.44 EUR for all)

3 eggs (0.60 EUR)

300 grams farmer’s cheese (1.00 EUR)

300 grams Crème Fraiche (1.00 EUR)

1 tsp salt (0.01 EUR)

1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper (0.03 EUR)

150 grams unsweetened 100% natural Corn Flakes (0.80 EUR)

METHOD:

Preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking dish with parchment paper. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, cheese, Crème Fraiche, salt and pepper until smooth and uniform. Add in the corn flakes and gently stir to combine. If the mixture seems too watery, feel free to add in more corn flakes. Transfer the batter to a prepared baking dish and even out. Bake for about 40 minutes until crispy on top and deep golden brown.

I actually prefer this dish cold, as it firms up and crisps up significantly while it sits and cools down.

Ok, prvo da raščistimo očitu stvar, a to je da ovo na žalost nema identičan okus kao pravi burek. Bilo bi znanstveno nemoguće postići čarobnu kombinaciju okusa koju daje prženo hrskavo tijesto, bez da u receptu doista koristite prženo hrskavo tijesto. No, s obzirom kako u ovom jelu nema dodanog ulja niti druge masnoće, kao i činjenicu da nema nikakvog tijesta u cijeloj prići, konačni je rezultat zapravo skroz ukusan. Ako prilagodite svoja očekivanja, velike su šanse da ćete se ovim receptom oduševiti koliko i ja. S druge strane, ako vam se baš gušta u pravom masnom bureku, napravite si uslugu i jednostavno odite na burek.

SASTOJCI:

(Za oko 4 izdašne porcije / 6,44 kn po porciji / 25,76 kn za sve)

3 jaja (4,50 kn)

300 g svježeg sira (7,50 kn)

300 g milerama (7,50 kn)

1 žličica soli (0,01 kn)

½ žličice svježe mljevenog crnog papra (0,25 kn)

150 g 100% prirodnog Corn Flakesa bez šećera (6,00 kn)

PRIPREMA:

Zagrijte pećnicu na 200°C i obložite protvan papirom za pečenje. U zdjeli pomiješajte jaja, sir, mileram, sol i papar da dobijete glatku smjesu. Dodajte Corn Flakes i nježno miješajte da se sve sjedini. Ako vam se smjesa čini prerijetkom, slobodno ubacite još Corn Flakesa. Preselite smjesu u pripremljeni protvan, poravnajte te pecite 40-tak minuta, dok pita ne bude hrskava i zlatno-smeđa.

Meni je osobno ova pita puno bolja kada se skroz ohladi, zato jer se s vremenom sve stisne, a Corn Flakes ponovno zahrska.
