Smashing Smashed Potatoes / Ludnica od zgnječenih krumpira

I kinda feel silly for posting this no-recipe type of recipe, but these smashed potatoes are so good that you really ought to try them out. Besides, I’m definitely not above being mesmerized by a humble potato.

INGREDIENTS:

(Yields 2 servings / 0.20 EUR per serving / 0.40 EUR for all)

½ kilo of small potatoes (0.33 EUR)

1 tsp salt (0.01 EUR)

½ tsp freshly ground black pepper (0.03 EUR)

1 tbsp pork lard (0.03 EUR)

METHOD:

Cook the potatoes with their skins on until fork tender. Allow them to cool a bit, then peel. Preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Smash the peeled potatoes (I used a small saucepan for this), then toss with salt, pepper and lard. Spread on a baking sheet and roast for about 30-45 minutes, until crispy to your liking. Serve immediately with a nice big salad.

S jedne strane se osjećam malo smiješno što objavljujem ovaj recept koji i nije recept, ali ovi zgnječeni krumpiri su toliko fini da ih jednostavno morate isprobati. Osim toga, definitivno me nije sram toga što sam skroz opčinjena skromnom namirnicom kao što je krumpir.

SASTOJCI:

(Za 2 porcije / 1,48 kn po porciji / 2,96 kn za sve)

½ kg malih krumpira (2,50 kn)

1 žličica soli (0,01 kn)

½ žličice svježe mljevenog crnog papra (0,25 kn)

1 žlica svinjske masti (0,20 kn)

PRIPREMA:

Skuhajte krumpire skupa sa ljuskama dok ne budu dovoljno mekani da ih možete upiknuti viljuškom. Pustite krumpire da se malo ohlade, pa ih ogulite. Zagrijte pećnicu na 200°C i obložite protvan papirom za pečenje. Oguljene krumpire sada zgnječite (ja sam ih postiskala sa malim lončićem), te pomiješajte sa solju, paprom i mašću. Krumpire raširite po pripremljenom protvanu i pecite 30-45 minuta, dok ne zahrskaju prema Vašem ukusu. Poslužite odmah sa nekom lijepom velikom salatom.
